Beware of scams: Protect yourself from fraudulent messages

At Diversifying Group, we're committed to your safety and security. We would like to ask our candidates to beware of a current scam that targets job seekers. Fraudsters may reach out to you impersonating consultants with job opportunities or offers in order to get your personal information or request payment. It's crucial to be vigilant and verify the authenticity of any messages you receive.

Recruitment scams are not always obvious. Here are a few tips on how to identify a fraudulent message:

  • It’s from an unknown phone number, country code or email address.

  • It contains a link; these may contain malware that could be installed on your device so avoid clicking on these.

  • It contains sudden requests for payment or pressure to act quickly.

  • It contains poor spelling and/or grammar.

  • It contains unrealistic salary or working arrangements - if it’s too good to be true it probably is.

For your safety, we strongly advise:

  • Do not respond to these messages.

  • Do not share any personal information, banking details, or make any payments requested through these messages.

  • Report the scam message to your local authorities or the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) through their official website for further investigation.

At Diversifying Group, we might contact you by text message, however:

  • Initial contact will usually be via an email address containing @diversifying.com or via LinkedIn.

  • We never send job offers or requests for personal information via text message to individuals who have not registered with our agency.

  • We will never ask a candidate to pay fees as part of the recruitment process.

  • We have an office phone number on our website, so you can give us a call if you’re not sure of anything.

Stay alert and safeguard yourself against fraudulent activity. If you have any doubts or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly using the contact details below:

Diversity Lens - Issue 181

Chances are you've tried your hand at yoga, but more than likely it's been a whitewashed version of the ancient practice.

Westernised yoga is ubiquitous these days - selfies of slim white women with their expensive yoga gear is a common sight. Somewhere along the way we seem to have lost the true meaning of yoga, and the tenets of the practice. It's not all about flexibility, Nikita Desai argues in our recent podcast episode, or weight loss, or conforming to an instagram aesthetic. So forget what you know about yoga!
Come on a journey of rediscovery with us and Nikita.

The Transgender Family Handbook is here!

What is it?

This online resource has 144 specific suggestions, from trans young people and their loved ones, that parents may find helpful in supporting their child’s transition.
It’s filled with personal stories, tips and real-life examples covering name changes, clothing, telling other family members and informing the school, to name just a few.

What role can parents play?

With the public discourse filled with anti-trans rhetoric, and a general questioning of the legitimacy of trans youth identities, there is little guidance out there for parents who believe their children and want to affirm their gender.

This handbook illustrates not only the practicalities of how to be a trans-affirming family, but the profoundly positive impacts of doing so.

A study by the Family Acceptance Project found that LGBTQIA+ youth whose families affirm their identity are almost 50% less likely to be suicidal compared to those whose families are unsupportive.

Asking for salary history is so last year

Why?
Someone applying for a job might not have been employment for some time, or they might have been underpaid in their last role. The proper compensation should be based on the job you are asking them to do, not what they've been paid previously!

Who does it affect the most?
Women and people of colour are most likely to be discriminated against by salary history. Let's ban it, and help to close the gender and ethnicity pay gap. Sign the petition.
